Golf d’Aro and its environmental improvement with selective collection<\/h3>\n

October 2020 – Since it obtained the GEO Certificate<\/strong> in 2018, the Club Golf d’Aro – Mas Nou<\/strong>, in Platja d’Aro (Girona), continues periodically to add arguments in favor of environmental improvement and sustainable social responsibility in its facilities.<\/p>\n

That work of dissemination, awareness and promotion of sustainability that The Golf Environment Organization (GEO)<\/strong> requires to grant its certificate, is still in force in this Catalan club, which if last year it was renewed with a fleet of ecological buggies, this year it gives continuity of its commitment by implementing selective waste collection and contributing to the conservation of birds in its privileged golf enclave.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe objective is that year after year we add value to our GEO Sustainability Certificate<\/strong>, as proof of the continued commitment that the club has assumed with the environment,<\/em>\u201d says Roc\u00edo Aranda<\/strong>, director of the Club Golf d’Aro. “We can now communicate to our customers, especially the members who come every day, that we have made selective waste collection available to them.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Right in front of the Caddy Master, different labeled bins for organic waste, paper and plastic have been installed.<\/p>\n

The 18-hole bins have also been labeled, where only plastics can be deposited, and in addition, in hole 10, another has been added for organic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have observed that 95% of the garbage we collected was plastic. That is why we have kept and labeled the ones we already had for plastic, and at the access to hole 10, the usual space for supplies, we have unfolded the bin with another point for organic”.<\/em><\/p>\n
